Autronica Fire and Security AS will use NorShipping 2009 to show the latest life-saving developments in its extensive approved portfolio of fire detection, suppression and presentation solutions for commercial and passenger vessels of all types and sizes. Leading the way is an extensive upgrade to the AutroMaster 5000 presentation system, which integrates ISEMS -- Integrated Safety and Emergency Management System -- functionality to provide real time emergency and safety management. AutroMaster with ISEMS functionality is especially relevant to large merchant and cruise vessels, having already been
installed on RCCL's Genesis and Oasis of the Seas, and Celebrity Cruises' Solstice. Also on display will be the new Autroprime interactive fire detection system, which has been designed especially for merchant vessels that require a simple, cost effective solution for low maintenance, easy operation and straightforward installation. It includes the Autronica developed SelfVerify solution that automatically performs a calibrated test every 24 hours to ensure smoke and heat detection sensitivity is correct and in line with the required levels.

Brude Rescue Boats
The new fast rescue boat HD720 ASI by Norwegian-based Brude Safety AS is built in seawater resistant aluminium and is divided into four watertight compartments. Compared to expanded foam, this is said to be far more environmentally friendly and is claimed to give several advantages, such as lower weight, no fungal, easy inspection, no inside corrosion and, possibly most important-
ly, easy maintenance and repair. The 7.2 m long and 2.4 m wide rescue boat is built as a search and rescue boat, but is also suited as a dive support vessel, a patrol boat or being used for other workboat related duties. The boat, which weighs 1,890 kg, is designed for six but can carry up to 15 people. It is designed and built according to SOLAS 83, amendment 96, LSO Code. The propulsion consists of a 220 HP BUKH+Steyr SOLAS 236 and an Almarin 230 waterjet, providing a speed of 34 knots with 3 persons onboard and a bollard pull of 450 kg.
