Noreq AS Debuts New Launching Arrangement Davits Noreq AS introduced a new, more user-friendly and safer concept of launching arrangements (davits) for lifeand rescue boats. Noreq Compact Davits are specifically designed for safe and efficient launch and retrieval of life-/rescue boats. It is intended for long term, reliable operation in harsh and hazardous marine and offshore environment. requirements, LSA Code and European Council Directive96/98 on Marine Equipment (MED). The new Noreq Compact Davits is available in several models and sizes for ship and rigs, with capacities for life/rescue boats up to 23000 kg. www.noreq.no Electrical and hydraulic systems and components is totally enclosed into the davit structure and gives optimal protection against wear and tear. The davit design and construction, gives advantages when it comes to maintenance and service, installation and deck preparations. This new davit concept also solve the problems related to operation affect by heating or arctic climate. Launching of the life-/rescue boat is performed either from inside the boat or from remote control unit (supplied as standard). Operation of the life-/rescue boat is performed by a electric/hydraulic driven system. The Noreq Compact davit system is designed in accordance with latest IMO/SOLAS Coastal Marine Equipment, Inc. Coastal Marine Equipment of Gulfport, MS, the leading manufacturer of custom marine deck machinery, recently delivered four CME Model 1S518-387D4-16-00 Single Drum Storage Reels. Each drum is designed to hold 11,000 ft. of 3-7/8" diameter wire rope developing 100,000 lbs. line pull at 15 FPM on the first layer with a high speed of 30 FPM. Included with the system, the 250 HP hydraulic power unit with pressure compensated pumps and umbilical controls to operate each reel.
