The floating dock, adding no more than 400 mm to the overall breadth and 300 mm to the length of the Fast Rescue Boat is pulled alongside the mother vessel. A permanently connected forward painter, connected to a painter boom, provides safe distance to the hull side. The painter boom should preferably be adjustable in order to control the distance from the hull. The FRB is then easily and safely driven into the MSS docking system until the stem of the boat enters a cone in the fore end of the dock. A pair of locks, one on each side fits into a recess in the pontoons. Willard Marine, Inc. (builder of the Deepwater Long Range Interceptor (LRI)) and Northrop Grumman Building conducted the first stern ramp launch and recovery trials for the LRI from it's permanent home onboard the Deepwater National Security Cutter (NSC). During trials in the Gulf of Mexico, personnel from Willard Marine, Northrop Grumman Building, Lockheed Martin, Integrated Coast Guard Systems (ICGS) and the USCG participated in both trials and evaluations. The highly successful launch and recovery of the LRI in various sea conditions, ship speeds and boat speeds provides a stable platform for the USCG onboard the NSC to respond swiftly to a variety of critical and non-critical missions. Moose Boats delivered four M2-35 Moose Boats to the U.S. Navy. The M2-35 is a 35.5 ft. aluminum catamaran powered by twin Cummins 380HP turbo diesels and is propelled by Hamilton 292 water jets. These vessels will be assigned to the U.S. Navy's Kings Bay, Georgia and Kitsap, Washington SUBASEs and are specifically designed to meet current Antiterrorism/Force Protection requirements. Its shallow 21-in. draft allows for a great deal of maneuverability within depths of less than 3 ft. of water. These boats offer (4) .50 cal weapons mounts. Main Engines: Twin Cummins QSB5.9 380hp Turbo Diesels; Max. Speed: 35 knots+ SeaArk Marine completed a contract for Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police for five 25ft. VC Commander RAM Class vessels. TThe Commander Class vessels are based on a hull designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Associates and are built of all-welded marine grade aluminum. The 25-ft. vessels incorporate a four-man climate controlled pilot house. Mission enhancements consist of a Furuno radar/NavNet system, Garmin chart plotter, Hurley infra-red camera, ICOM radio and Wing foam collar. Main Engines: Twin 225 hp Evinrude E-Tec outboard; Max. speed 43 knots+ Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, recently delivered a rigid-bottom, soft-sided pilot boat to the Galveston Texas-City Pilots. The jet-driven, all-aluminum Galveston Bay measures 43 ft. overall. It has a 14 ft. beam, including the hybrid foam/air collar, and a shoal 2.5 ft. draft. Powered by twin Cummins QSL-9, six-cylinder diesel engines, each rated at 400 bhp at 2100 rpm, turn a pair of Hamilton HJ-292 water jets through Twin Disc 5075SC gearboxes. Fuel capacity is 300 gals. Main Engines: Twin Cummins QSL-9; Max. Speed: 35 knots Zodiac of North America unveiled the Zodiac Hurricane MACH 2, an 11-meter RIB designed for the military. MACH 2 is the fastest Hurricane produced, with top speeds or more than 60 knots. The boat is powered by three 300 hp outboards. Naval Architect, Michael Peters, designed a patented two-step hull and proprietary keel to handle the speeds and maintain stability. Combined with ample shock mitigating technology in seating configurations and deck surface, the MACH 2 enhances the military's mission to strike fast with fresh warriors. Main Engines: Three 300 hp outboards; Max. Speed: 60 knots+ Ribcraft has recently completed in country commissioning exercises for a fleet of Ribcraft 7.8's delivered to the Philippines Presidential Security Group earlier this year. The all black RIBs, with blacked out hulls, tubes, consoles, frames, and antennas, are designed to not only destroy potential threats to the Palace but to intimidate vessels from approaching. Intended for rapid response, the 26-ft. Ribcraft 7.8s are outfitted with twin 150 hp Honda four stroke outboards. With this power configuration, the RIBs easily reach speeds in excess of 45 knots. Main Engines: Twin 150 hp Honda; Max. Speed: 45 knots+ North River Boats, Inc, the Roseburg, Oregon builder of aluminum workboats, announced the award of a contract to supply Wayne County, Mich. with four RAIV (Rigid Aluminum Inflatable Vessels) boats totaling just under $1m dollars. Each boat under this contract will be built with similar configurations. The four boats are 32 x 12 ft. beam RAIVs powered with twin Yamaha outboard motors. They will incorporate an enclosed cabin, inflatable tubes, substantial electronic equipment and a generator to support law enforcement needs. Many sizes and power configurations available.
Aluminum Chambered Boat's Bowloader series is designed to combine speed, maneuverability, and modularity with safety. The Bowloader is described as a versatile utilitarian vessel that can operate from the high seas to the inland waterways. It offers 80-111 sq. ft. of cargo space and a bow ramp, and can carry an Air Force 463L cargo pallet, or quickly deploy ATVs.
