"The award shows that PureBallast is not just a response to IMO regulations, but rather an optimized technology with a real and positive impact on the marine environment." PureBallast, with the use of patented Wallenius AOT , is the only system having received Final approval from IMO. The announcement of the Green Ship Technology Award coincides with other positive developments for PureBallast, including multiple sales of the system to Wallenius. Two PureBallast systems are currently being installed aboard Wallenius newbuilds, and seven PureBallast retrofits are scheduled for completion during 2008. "In total, Alfa Laval has sold eighteen systems to five different ship operators," said Dahl. Teomaki Signs Contract with CST Teomaki AS won a contract to supply its Ship Management System to CST Chemikalien Seetransport GmBH. "This contract marks a major break-through for Teomaki in the German market," said managing director P�l Wider�e. The contract is for the installation of the Teomaki application containing fleet management, technical and quality administration on board six newbuildings, together with conversion of existing systems. The project will also involve the provision of training and general consultancy to CST. The CST fleet comprises more than 30 vessels of various classes and sizes with a joint capacity of more than 1.3 million TDW -- making them one of the largest companies in the German tanker industry.
