LR Americas Reorganizes
Lloyd's Register Americas, Inc. has strengthened its marine business organization to enhance the support it provides to clients throughout North and South America. Tim Protheroe has been appointed Senior Vice President -- Americas Marine Business. He will have full executive responsibility for marine activities in the Americas and for implementing Lloyd's Register's global marine strategies in the region. Reporting directly to Protheroe, the members of the Americas marine management team are responsible for all activities in their respective locations, from business development to service delivery. Peter Brock, former President of Lloyd's Register North America, retired at the end of August after 35 years of service. Graham Brown, Vice President and Marine Business Manager for US East Coast and the Caribbean, has 45 years of experience in the marine industry. After training in naval architecture with the UK Ministry of Defence, he spent 20 years in management of new construction and conversion projects. He joined Lloyd's Register in 1981, and after an initial three years with Lloyd's Register in London and Newcastle, he transferred to the US in 1984. Jos� Ferreira, Vice President and Marine Business Manager for South America, joined Lloyd's Register in 1974 as a marine surveyor. Bud Streeter, Vice President and Marine Business Manager for Canada, started his career at the Canadian Coast Guard College in 1969 as an engineering cadet. His career includes several executive positions at Marine Atlantic Inc. and Transport Canada, and heading Canada's delegation to various Committees of the International Maritime Organisation. John Hicks, Business Manager for Passenger Ships and Americas Design Support Office, has a naval architecture degree from the US Coast Guard Academy and two master's degrees in naval architecture and aerospace. Lorenzo Perez, Marine Business Manager for US Gulf Coast and West Coast, Panama and Mexico, began his career with Lloyd's Register in 1980 as a site surveyor inspecting new offshore gas platforms, drilling units, and a nuclear power station. Seaspan Standardizes on Transas
